Nineteen Creative Economy Innovation Centers across South Korea have jointly selected a group of promising startups and hosted an investment relations (IR) event, C’esthetto, to showcase their business plans to potential investors.

The event, held at COEX in Seoul on the morning of the 31st, brought together 21 startups operating in the biohealth and eco-friendly energy sectors, big data and artificial intelligence, and a wide range of industrial technologies. All participating companies were recommended by the Creative Economy Innovation Centers and were selected for their strong market competitiveness and growth potential.

The opening ceremony featured Lim Jeong-wook, Director of the Startup and Venture Innovation Office at the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, who outlined the government’s Startup Korea policy. “We aim to shift the paradigm of startup policy from one focused primarily on domestic commercialization to one that positions Korea as a global startup powerhouse,” Lim said.

The event continued with keynote presentations by Choi Hyung-wook, CEO of Life Square, and Ryu Joong-hee, CEO of Future Play, who shared insights on the current startup ecosystem and investment strategies in so-called “super-gap” technology sectors. Their talks were followed by a panel discussion.

During the panel session, Ha Sang-yong, Chairman of the Creative Economy Innovation Center Council, discussed the evolving role of the centers amid rapid technological change and shifting investment environments, as well as plans to expand their function as public accelerators.

“Despite the challenging investment climate, many startups continue to pursue innovation and take on new challenges,” Ha said. “Through this event, we hope to highlight the growth potential of these companies and help them attract successful investment.”

C’esthetto—a name combining the abbreviation of the Creative Economy Innovation Center (CCEI) and the Korean word meaning “to say,” symbolizing investment—was the second such event held this year. It was designed to serve as a platform connecting CCEI-recommended startups with investors.
